Southern Port

On July 11th 2011 the new South Port of Patras has become operable for the itineraries between Patras and Italy.

The Southern Passenger Port of Patras has a platform of 992m total length, built with caissons of reinforced concrete in a zigzag alignment. It consists of 4 dock stations and it has 15 docks, 11 of which can be used for mooring by stern and 4 can be used for side-mooring. In addition the Southern Port has breakwaters of 1.236m total length, built with caissons of reinforced concrete.

With respect to the building of the Southern Port they have a total coverage area of 6.974 m2 and they include the following buildings:

• A Passenger Terminal station with a total area coverage of 3.232,1 m2 which includes reception and information kiosks, waiting areas, cafes, bars, restaurant-kitchens, stores, administration offices, agencies, medicine room, WCs, areas for the cleaners, auxiliary spaces, storage areas and refrigerators, waste depositories, staircases and elevators, a loft of 453m2, room for the electromechanical equiment, semi-open spaces, arches and access points for disabled.
• A buidling for the Port Administration with a total area coverage of 1.764,5 m2 which includes waiting room, offices, archive room, kitchens, WCs, vestiaries, areas for the cleaners, storage areas, traffic corridors sheltered and open, control room and room for electronic equipment, loft of 121,9 m2, room for the electromechanical equipment, boiler rooms – pump rooms, paving of surrounding areas and access points for disabled.
• Substation Building which includes room for electromechanical equipment, office, WC.
• A bar – resting area building with a total coverage are of 108,2 m2 (and coverage total with lattice 388.8 sq.m.) which includes a bar and auxiliary areas for it, storage areas, WCs, lattice with seating columns and other covered areas.
• Cistern building with an area coverage of 126,17 m2 and capacity of 300 m3.
• Fire Department Station Building with a total area coverage of 669,76 m2 which includes outdoors covered areas, reception area, offices, dormitories, telephone centre, men and women booths, seminar room, kitchens, WCs, traffic corridors, room for the electormechanical equipment.
• Outbuilding of the Fire Department Station with a total area coverage of 338,46 m2 (and coverage total with lattice 587.5 sq.m.) which includes a workshop, storage areas, WCs, a parking area and lattice with seating columns. 
• North Gate Building with a total area coverage of 354,52 m2 (and coverage total with lattice 2.818,7  sq.m.) which includes waiting areas, offices, kitchen, WCs, storage areas, traffic corridors, room for the electromechanical equipment, islet outposts, paving around buildings, islets, and relevant road works, lattice with seating columns, metallic guard rail.
• South Gate Building with a total area coverage of 172,5 m2 (and coverage total with lattice 1.585,6   sq.m.) which includes waiting areas, offices, kitchen, WCs, storage areas, traffic corridors, room for the electromechanical equipment islet outposts, paving around buildings, islets, and relevant road works, lattice with seating columns, metallic guard rail.
